About
Inspired by the perfection of nature, Kyla uses natural elements with ethically sourced precious metals & gemstones to create handmade silver & gold jewellery. Often examining the odd, undesirable, or mundane aspects of plant life, Kyla utilizes the technique of organic casting to immortalize cedar sprigs, maple keys, twigs, seed pods & more to create pieces of wearable art.
Kyla graduated from the Material Art & Design program (majoring in Jewellery & Metalsmithing) at OCAD University in 2005. Since then she has taught jewellery making classes at OCADU, George Brown College & private studios, participated in juried shows, and worked as a designer & goldsmith for other businesses as well as her own. These days she’s focused on creating her own jewellery lines & custom orders for clients in her home studio in Pontypool, ON.
