A heart-shaped maple key? What are the chances of that? A seed pod this distinctly shaped is nearly impossible to find, so imagine my excitement when I found this lovely maple key that curved back on itself to form a flowing heart shape. Let them know they have the key to your heart with this subtle symbol of your love. 

Cast from a real maple key seed pod in sterling silver, this pendant has all the delicacy of the fine veins in the maple key, with the durability and drama of silver. This is the only piece in the "key to my heart" mini collection that was made from maple keys that were already naturally formed into a heart shape (the rest needed a bit of help from me and were made from cut apart and re-assembled maple keys).

Often called helicopters or whirlybirds, the maple key, with it’s small seedpod and big leafy propeller, is designed to rotate and fly through the air with the wind; whirling and twirling to it’s destination - a new place to grow. Feel the freedom and adventure of the maple key necklace as it dips and shifts with every movement, reflecting shimmering light from its graceful, undulating ruffles.

The oxidized version features a faceted garnet briolette dangle. On an oxidized 22" wheat chain. The bright silver version features a rose quartz briolette dangle. On a 20" fine rolo chain.

Care information

To keep your jewellery looking it’s best:

*Avoid direct contact with perfume, body lotion, hair spray or other chemicals - allow perfume or lotion to dry before wearing.

*Never expose jewellery to household cleaning products.

*Remove your jewellery before bathing, showering, swimming or entering a hot tub.

*Remove before sleeping.

*Remove jewellery when participating in physical activities (cleaning/gardening/sports)

*Gently wipe off excess oils or perspiration with a soft cloth.

*Store in a tightly sealed plastic bag (ziploc) or box to minimize tarnish.

How to remove tarnish:

*Light tarnish may be removed with a gentle wipe with a polishing cloth, followed by washing using a toothbrush with dish detergent & water. Rinse well & pat dry.

*Heavier tarnish (on jewellery without gemstones) may be removed with a dip cleaner & thoroughly washed using a toothbrush with dish soap & water. Rinse well & pat dry.

*Never expose pearls or porous gemstones to dips or other chemical cleaners.
