Cast from a real maple key seed pod in sterling silver, hand-crafted this pendant has all the delicacy of the fine veins in the maple key, with the durability and drama of silver.
Often called helicopters or whirlybirds, the maple key, with it’s small seedpod and big leafy propeller, is designed to rotate and fly through the air with the wind; whirling and twirling to it’s destination - a new place to grow. Feel the freedom and adventure of the maple key necklace as it dips and shifts with every movement, reflecting shimmering light from its graceful, undulating ruffles.

Pictured here 3 ways - on both a fine and heavy wheat chain, and waxed cotton cord in dark olive green (faceted ball chains are currently unavailable). Unless otherwise specified, all orders will be shipped out on an 18" fine wheat chain. If you prefer another option, reach out to me through the contact form and I'll make sure to switch the pendant to your preferred chain or cord.

The oxidized silver version of this pendant is shown on a dark purple waxed cotton cord, but is also available on an oxidized wheat chain. As above, please specify if you prefer a chain.

Care information

To keep your jewellery looking it’s best:

*Avoid direct contact with perfume, body lotion, hair spray or other chemicals - allow perfume or lotion to dry before wearing.

*Never expose jewellery to household cleaning products.

*Remove your jewellery before bathing, showering, swimming or entering a hot tub.

*Remove before sleeping.

*Remove jewellery when participating in physical activities (cleaning/gardening/sports)

*Gently wipe off excess oils or perspiration with a soft cloth.

*Store in a tightly sealed plastic bag (ziploc) or box to minimize tarnish.

How to remove tarnish:

*Light tarnish may be removed with a gentle wipe with a polishing cloth, followed by washing using a toothbrush with dish detergent & water. Rinse well & pat dry.

*Heavier tarnish (on jewellery without gemstones) may be removed with a dip cleaner & thoroughly washed using a toothbrush with dish soap & water. Rinse well & pat dry.

*Never expose pearls or porous gemstones to dips or other chemical cleaners.
